Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
NOTE FOR DRITAN — this is a working template, not finished legal copy. Every section marked CONFIRM must be checked against what your app actually does before you publish, and it has to match the privacy answers in your App Store and Play Console listings. A policy that under-declares your data collection is a common cause of app rejection and removal. Have a lawyer review it if you are monetising.
This policy explains what information Game Maps IRL (the "app") collects, why it is collected, and what choices you have. The app is operated by MapleByte ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
Location data
Game Maps IRL is a navigation app, so it requests access to your device's location in order to show your position on the map, calculate routes, and deliver turn-by-turn guidance. Location access is requested through your operating system and you can revoke it at any time in your device settings, though the app's core function will not work without it.
CONFIRM: state plainly whether location is processed only on the device, or whether coordinates are transmitted to your servers or to a third-party routing provider. If they leave the device, name the provider and link their policy. Also state whether you retain location history and for how long.
Other data
CONFIRM each of the following, and delete any that do not apply:
- Analytics. Which SDK, what events, and whether the data is linked to a user or device identifier.
- Crash reporting. Which service, and what device information is attached to a crash report.
- Accounts. Whether users can create an account and what is stored if they do.
- Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by Apple and Google; describe what purchase data you receive.
- Advertising. Whether the app shows ads and which network, since this triggers extra disclosure requirements.
How we use information
Information is used to provide navigation and map rendering, to keep the app working correctly, to diagnose faults, and to respond when you contact support. CONFIRM any additional purpose.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. CONFIRM the full list of third parties that receive data — map and routing providers, analytics, crash reporting, hosting — and link each of their privacy policies.
Retention
CONFIRM how long each category of data is kept and what triggers deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR this includes the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. Both Apple and Google require that an account-based app offer in-app account deletion, so CONFIRM whether that applies to you and describe the route to it here.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. CONFIRM this against the age rating you selected on each store.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
CONFIRM where your servers and processors are located and the safeguards used for transfers out of the EEA or UK.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above, and where required by law we will give you additional notice.
